For me it is all about these two words: (Social and Search)
I think about all three concepts as I create content for blogs and websites each day. All three items work well when combined with each other.
First – Social
Social Media works best when you can point people to a specific site or article or image. Social by itself is just talking. It may be a good way to start a conversation, but ultimately you want your reader to perform some type of action. Hopefully, that action requires a final transaction or a phone or email conversation.
Second – Search
People still find us via search, mostly through a browser, not a social media site. People want to know where your company is located, information about the company and contact information regarding the company.
Work better Together – Social and Search
I’ll leave you with a couple of thoughts.
1) How are people finding you? – Most people find us by search and brand awareness. I wish people were talking about us all the time on social media sites, but I don’t see that happening in the near future. For this reason, I use social media to bring the conversation into our site, or better yet to our company through direct communication by phone or email. With social media, you have a very limited time and reach to really make a difference.
