Everyday, we make decisions regarding operations, clients, processes, documentation and the list goes on. That is the exciting part. In the back of my mind I keep asking myself how can I get better and how can I make that next sale. With respect to every decision I make, Marketing is in the back of my mind. The client does not care about my day-to-day decisions on quality or employee performance. All they care about is the final product, a report in my case. There are a lot of inputs along the way to producing a report for the product, but in the back of my mind, marketing is so important.
Essentially, I am over-head. Yes overhead. Take me away and the process still works to produce results. However, with no marketing, there are no clients. What good is a final product without clients?
However, taking this to another level…This is the kicker
Marketing Model has changed to the Caring Model
Sometimes, sadly we get so focused on marketing and return on investment that we forget about what is really important. I have found when faced with disagreements or situations that require workarounds, I have to take a step back and think about what is really important. When I take time to stop and think, I really put myself in the position of a client or an employee and try to understand where they are coming from. Once I come to an understanding of the issue, I realize that I have several more options at my disposal. (Discovered in 2012)
I am client driven and the new model of client having a say in our companies and companies being encourages to be more transparent is occurring everyday. If I want people to care, I better care about what my clients are thinking. If my clients think my product is crap, I need to quickly change that perception. If things are going nicely, I need to continue to show that client that I care and I am listening to his/her needs.
Now with the internet and social media instead of thinking about marketing, I have moved to the model of caring. The competition for caring is at an all-time high. It is all about caring for our clients and meeting their needs. It is about caring about our employees and keeping them involved with the client needs. If you want to build momentum in your company, show people you care.
People care about people! – People want to know more about the people they do business with. Are we real? Do we have feelings? Do we care?
One of the best ways to demonstrate this model is to show it online through the use of content and conversation. Yes content is great, but conversation is also needed!
Content is Great but Conversation is building steam too!
What do you think of the concept of “Caring”? For me it is a difference-maker!
