A typical Twitter Day
- Write Blog post for Midwest Labs and Marketing Director and post that link on Twitter using @MidwestLabs and @BrentPohlman
- Open up TweetDeck in Chrome. Use the Chrome Application it has evolved and offers tremendous functionality with its columns.
- Check it from time to time and get caught up on news and happenings about 3 times a day for 10-15 minutes.
- Check my mentions and make sure I return a comment back to anyone mentioning my name.
These areas are the things I look for while I spend time on Twitter
Search– Search keywords for competitors, services, topics, specific people or clients.Find great people to connect with. I have found the people who work with these tools in the workplace are often the best people to connect with. Be wary of superstars and high follower counts. Some are good and some are not so good! Believe me, I have been burned a few times.
Marketing – Check analytics and make sure people are connecting to our sites from Twitter and other social media platforms.
Listening – Look for opportunities.for new services or to promote current services. Learn from other people’s mistakes and learn from their successes.
If you make your day a simple one, you will really find more value with tools like Twitter. You will also discover new tools in the process which I have not mentioned here. By having a firm foundation with your toolset and a consistent routine, you will find much pleasure and will see results. Plan your typical day today and start seeing results. Results will not happen overnight, but if you stay in the game long enough, you will see results.
