It is all about business results…
For me, I am changing the way I look at metrics and looking more at action metrics that result in conversions.
Here are some of the metrics I look at:
Number of new accounts per day – This figure tells me that new clients are finding us and have a need for our business.
How did people find out about your company? – Word of Mouth, Website, News Article, Trade Show, Advertisement for examples. This information tells me where I need to focus my marketing efforts.
How many people are submitting questions online and by phone? This tells me that people are interested in our services and are trying to connect with us.
The last time we contacted a client – This information indicates to me how close we are to our clients and we can notice patterns if work increases or decreases based on our contact with the new client.
Tracking page content – Where are people going on our website and where are they not going on our website.
Who are the advocates for Midwest Laboratories? Which users are in contact with us regarding our blog and social media sites. It’s all about people, not how many people.
These are just a few of the action metrics that I look at. What type of action metrics are you monitoring? Have you seen trends using another type of metric? Please share. It’s always interesting to see how people are measuring their efforts.
