Isn’t this what it is all about. Becoming a part of the story. Wouldn’t it be nice if we knew our clients were looking for us to be a part of their story. Sounds a bit self-serving, but isn’t that what happens when we get involved in relationships with others.
When you go home, don’t you want to know what happened in your wife’s day or your kids’ day? We all want to know the latest story and make sure we know what is happening around us.
The trick, I believe as marketers is to have the best, compelling story out there for people to read and connect with. People want a story that keeps going, that has twists and turns. Day-to-day routine stories are boring. If your work is all day-to-day and that is all you post about, you may find fewer followers and eventually you will quit posting on social media, because you do not see any value.
So today, start looking for the “big” story or exciting event. People like to share in the excitement. If you have nothing exciting to say, go out and connect with someone who has posted something noteworthy or exciting. Keep your message alive. It’s a lot of hard work, but every now and then we get a glimpse of how our hard work can pay off.
Today, I will be reviewing the progress our company has made with respect to marketing initiatives. I already have some new ideas and projects waiting to be implemented in the second half of the year and I am looking to stop doing some things that were not working so well in the first part of the year. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.
