Everyday, we do our best to answer questions and respond to requests regarding our services. It is a constant go-go-go operation.Responding to inquiries or comments, really helps us fulfill our service goals and helps keep our clients coming back.
I guess the beauty of this is when it also spreads outside our normal client base and we actually assist others outside our industry. Maybe its answering a question about social media or finding a particular resource. Today, alone, I have received suggestions for future posts, request for a training room, to share a booth at an upcoming show and assistance in getting some media attention for a particular company.
All of these type of actions show how you care. Now, I believe you do need to be selective in who you assist. This is why it is extremely important to stay connected with only the best people. It is all about “trust” and you need to know who you can trust.
I guess my point is that when you start getting connected, you will start to see how those connections really can really be an asset to you and in return you can be a resource for others. The nice part about a lot of this is it can be done in a very timely and acceptable manner through social media sites like Linkedin, GooglePlus, Email and Twitter. I think this is the part I like the best.
Some items to consider :
People like to see requests on social media sites and you may get quicker responses if you use these platforms to connect with others. (Just a Thought)
Also, start using these platforms to connect personally. I am trying to make more of a transition to call out people directly on social media rather than just publicly making “general conversations”
As social media sites become more a part of the communication mix, it is important to build trusting relationships online and make sure we continue to make the most out of these channels to help us succeed in our businesses and connect with those people that can help us succeed too.
