Check out this article, “Choosing A Network-Specific Social Media Content Strategy — The 10 Reasons It Pays To Focus” It has some great ideas to consider when looking at social media marketing.
One item that really stood out to me which is really obvious is “If a particular social media platform is providing great results, spend more time there..” Too many people feel they need to have a strong presence on several sites.
Set a minimum standard like sharing a current blog post on every social media platform you manage and then spend time on the social media sites that offer the most return.
Social Media is not a cookie-cutter system. Many consultants try to sell it that way, but ultimately there is a platform that you will see more return.
I would also add, make sure you find that particular platform and make a name for yourself and your company. Remember people want to connect with people.
Below is my top 5 list with respect to time spent on a particular social media platform. (1- Most Time > 5 – Least Time)
- Google Plus
Your list will probably vary, but there are reasons why this list works for me. For me it’s about client feedback, having a professional presence, search, connecting with images and finally friends.
The main thing to remember is spend the time where you are having success and use your time as efficient as possible.
