As marketers, one of the most fundamental ideas I have learned in 2013 has been this strive to be a marketer who seeks daily marketing engagement. It is a requirement if you want your company to be found. 2013 brought us the concept of “content marketing”. Throughout 2013 I have read articles about the value of quality content.
In addition, the emphasis on engagement on social media continues to be an underlying theme. Although, I have to say engagement has become a bit overrated, mainly because of the considerable amount of time it takes to be engaged on social media platforms.
This is where daily marketing engagement comes in. It starts with your company story and the hot topic of the day. You need to continue to bring people to your site and keep them there. This where “content marketing” meets social media engagement. The two need to be tied together. In order to do this effectively, it must become a daily part of your business. Your blog is a great place to start. I could have my twitter id or facebook id taken away tomorrow, but if you took my blog site away, it would take me months to recover. This is how critical content is to companies that have found success with daily marketing engagement.
When your focused on telling your story, (historical, future). Remember your story is not just your past, you get people excited and you help give them a direction which helps them connect.
Client services is also a big part of this process. Once you have a strong daily engagement process, you need to make sure you have a team that can support the phone calls from clients and respond to the people walking through your front doors.
2014 looks to be a very exciting year and companies need to take note that each day they can make a real difference and see results…
