More content! | This is what Google is telling us!
Content Marketing – It is all about putting out content everyday and making sure people read your content. Now, you have to come up with another bit of content for today’s blog post.
Some other questions I am asking myself:
- Who is reading this conent?
- Are people really reading the information that you are writitng about?
- Is it a waste of time?
The answer top the question above is: No one has time or interest in your content!
It’s up to each person to decide if it is a waste of time or not: For me it is not!
It starts with having some goals and a willingness to share ideas and concepts with others: If this doesn’t interest you, stop here and don’t read any farther.
Starts with Goals:
My goal with social media has always been to connect with my company and, personally/professionally to continue to grow. Company growth is measured in revenue, new clients and additional work. Professional growth is measured in number of quality contacts, continued learning from other people’s experiences, (not content)
With social media and content marketing, I want to start conversations and I want to continue those discussions. The best method I have found to achieve this process is starting with a blog post. A blog post has a longer shelf life than any information posted on a social media site, because it ultimately brings people to a place they can learn more about my thoughts and information regarding the company I work for.
I demand results. I use a variety of techniques to measure success:
I need to connect with the powerful connections I have made on Twitter, Linkedin and Google Plus. I do this by listening and learning from others. From here, I like to share marketing ideas, (content) and tips I have experienced success with.In addition, I like to keep informed of what is happening around me. If I am not growing, I am dying!
It is all about developing good content that is different than mainstream content. It is about getting people’s attention, (though content) and bringing them to our company via web, phone and in person. I am constantly looking at analytics and search position on the internet. In addition, I consistently ask for referrals about where they heard abou t our company.
Give people something of value to read! (Quality Content)
Provide content on a regular basis! (Consistent Content)
Give people a reason to read my content! (Content – Call To Action, Valued Tip)
If I don’t look at content from this position, why should I expect anyone to read my content!
