This month I’ve tried a new approach personally and professionally. I am working toward goals each week. I start on Monday listing out the items I want to achieve and I review my progress each Friday. I usually come up with 1-5 items a week
This works great with teams. It gets everyone on the same page for the week and working toward some goals and objectives. It takes some work and some weeks goals are better than others, but what it does is it gets people together with a plan that can be discussed and executed.
The beauty of this approach is that it can spread virally across your company too. People want to be a part of a team and see results from their work.
The other beauty with this approach is you will see people who have passion and want to succeed take hold of these objectives and complete them. It give them renewed focus and a sense of accomplishment. So set your expectations high. You can always come down if you have to.
I am always working at maximimizing production and seeing results from work efforts. This simple approach of setting goals each week is really paying off in a big way. Sometimes, the right approach can be a simple one.
