You can search keywords and filter your search by selecting one of these areas of search:
- Everything – All posts, people, and website mentions.
- People – The search filter returns all the people on Google+ who have posted information specific to the key words.
- Google+ Posts – Search and return posted information about the specific keywords.
- Sparks – Search and return information about referenced websites and/or web links.
Personally, I really like searching for People based on a keyword(s). I like connecting with people rather than posts and it gives me a chance to see if the person posting the information about the particular keyword has a background that helps qualify his statement.
You can also use the hashtag symbol, “#” in front of your keyword to access real-time search. Real-time search means Google+ will update your search as new content is posted. All you have to do is click on the refresh link.
My point in writing this post is to remember to stay ahead of the crowd and don’t listen to the “naysayers” who say Google Plus is not worth your time. If you run into those people ask them how familiar they are with the new search functionality in Google+. You might be surprised by their answer.
