I see a lot of Thank You’s being showered this week and I think it is great to see people taking time out to recognize others. We definitely need some good news and it really starts by taking time to recognize the blessings we have been given and those who have helped us realize these blessings.
For me, it is about people! It is about relationships. (Connecting or binding with participants)
If you are a business owner, you understand how important people are to your business. I listened to a presentation last night and I heard the presenter say time and again, I enjoy delivering my product directly to the people, because it shows I care and they care too. It is a win-win situation.
It is a win-win situation. People are the key. Our whole focus is to serve clients on the outside, (paying customers) and on the inside, (employees who perform the work). Lots of people connecting to make the final transaction a rewarding and effective transaction.
As the Thanksgiving Holiday is upon us, take time to connect with the people around you. Here are some suggestions.
- Reconnect with your wife and children. If you have vacation days, make sure you spend time with these important people in your life.
- Reconnect with relatives and friends around a meal. Take time to learn their views and ideas on particular subjects.
- If you are out shopping and have to stand in line, make the most of it, talk to someone in line, joke about the long waits.
- Find an activity that involves other people’s participation: a game, putting up decorations, cleaning, painting, watching a game. Spend more time with others.
If you must work on business while you are at home, focus your efforts on the people part.
Come up with a strategy to reconnect with your clients or suppliers. Don’t take these people for granted. Maybe you are not spending enough time in this area, make time this week and stay people focused. I try to come up with a personal strategy for reconnecting when I get back to work the week after Thanksgiving.
If you must work at your company, focus on giving the best customer service ever.
Hey, this is the time to shine as a worker, especially in retail. Be different then your co-workers. If you have to work the night shift beginning at midnight, pretend its the trendiest thing ever, people will notice. All it takes is one great note to your boss and the comment could turn into an extra comment on your review.
Make your marketing personal this Thanksgiving!
If you are lucky to get some time off, personally connect with the people around you and put your marketing hat on the shelf.
Have a Great Thanksgiving!
