evaluate your social mediaI came across this article, “Are you using social media to your advantage?”

It is an interesting question. The article looks at small businesses and whether or not they are taking advantage of these platforms to compete with larger businesses.

The article just touches the surface. It makes the same claims about social media not being free and having a plan and having a presence on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. Most small businesses understand this by now.

The article should point out more…

Are small businesses using blogs to effectively communicate their brand message?

Social Media needs to be one part of an effective marketing program?

Small companies can become industry leaders if they are able to join conversations and become more in tuned with customer conversations.

How does your web presence fit into your current social media structure?

Finally, how can you be different than your competitors. This is really the key.

What other areas can small businesses focus on to help them compete with larger companies?
