Social Media Sharing Widgets
I am sure by now your website or blog site has social media share widgets on it somewhere because you really want someone to read your great content and share it on other social media sites. You know those buttons at the top of posts or at the bottom of posts. You can share the information with others on a number of different sites.
Are you caught up with these widgets too? Do you constantly look at these numbers and hope your message is being shared all over the place?
What about a different type of Widget? A Caring Widget?
What if you gave your readers a different type of widget? Instead of asking people to share your information with others, what if you really asked your readers if they cared about what they read or if they did not care about what they read and why. This information would be most beneficial to us as writers and to others. Often times, people read our content but do not write comments about what they have read.
I think putting the focus on content from a caring standpoint rather than a sharing standpoint puts your blog site or website exponentially ahead of your competition.
Today’s Takeaway
This is the mindset I have when I write a blog post. I ask myself, do I think people will really care about this content or do I think people will find this content boring, mainstream and not care at all. Sharing is secondary! Repeat sharing is secondary. Think about your message and ask yourself and others if you really care about what you just read or not.
