I saw this tweet today posted by @NealSchaeffer and had to read more. I am really excited about this new technology coming from Twitter. Check out the article by Allyson Kaplin, “The Scoop on Twitter’s New Brand Pages”
Twitter is real-time and that is great for getting messages to out to people. Now – with branding pages, companies will be able to add the following:
- Create a Banner – A simple message can now be a part of a company’s profile Check out the American Red Cross’s Branding Page with its banner
- Highlight a Specific Tweet – This will be very cool for getting people’s attention and actually taking them to an action page without having to initially leave Twitter.
- Embeddable Media in Tweets – Not only tweets, but other media like photos and videos will be able to be embedded into Twitter Branding Pages
I can really see a lot of great uses for this new technology. It will be interesting to see how it catches on in 2012.
One last tip, you might want to start considering the favorite button on those tweets you decide to embed. By making it a favorite, that particular tweet may reside longer on the network. Just a thought! Look at your favorites list and check out some of those old tweets. Again, just something to keep in mind…
