After a great Christmas break, I feel rejuvenated and poised for some extreme action. I am turning this new action into planning.
See today’s Midwest Labs Blog Post!
It is time to shake up the coffers and light a fire under myself and others. Start planning and leading this week.
I know this sounds like a pre-game coaches speech, and I have experience doing that, but now is the time to really drive home some potential change and it starts with getting facts and figures in order and coming out with a game plan for 2012. Leading by example is going to be my theme for 2012. Steve Jobs had lots of passion. Take a few minutes and listen to his speech at Stanford University. You can just feel the passion and leadership in his voice and examples he shares.
It is about caring! Leaders understand this and share this message with others.
There has been a lot of Tebow talk in 2011. Check out this half-time speech! This is the kind of passion some of us may need to carry our team through 2012.
What is your passion?
What are the goals for yourself and your company?
Isn’t it time to make a difference?
What are we scared of? If we don’t make plans, we should be scared. Make a plan and start a direction. Follow it up with regular checks and measure your progress.
This week is a great time to think about what it is going to take to be an effective leader and develop that direction for your team. This is a wakeup call, you only have a few days left before the start of a new year. Why don’t you make a difference.
Here is one last tip! If you need some personal ideas to get going check out this post by Peter Shankman ” Eight ideas for the next seven days” This guy is my Tim Tebow Hero if you want to read about somebody who has passion and is making a difference.

Thanks for your comments. I hope you are enjoying your break! Have a great New Year’s Celebration!

Great post Brent! In education we call this assessment. What worked and what didn’t work. I try to do this daily in my classroom. I’m currently working on planning for my Spring semester classes and I like how you put it to a team theme.
I liked Peter’s post as well. Great job motivating us with simple stuff that makes a huge difference.
