You will not believe the power of this one tip. Once you realize how powerful it is, you will begin to see why it is a tip you need to know and schedule on a regular basis.
The tip I am talking about is updating your profile each week. You can add a skill, or change your contact information or add a note about a project you are working on. You need to edit your profile and save it.
You are probably asking yourself, “What is the benefit of taking this action?” Answer: All profile updates are communicated to your connections. This is huge. People will see that you are active on Linkedin, even if it is once a week. People are always interested in profile updates to see if people are changing job locations or receiving job promotions.
Obviously you can also share updates, but if you really want to keep people informed, you need to continually update your profile.
You may not see immediate results online, but if you see your connections at conferences or local networking events, you can bet that they are paying attention to you and you are taking a step to keep your connections informed.
Have any of you tried this and had similar experiences?
