Stand out on twitter Stand out today and start making a difference with your twitter experience. I work with a personal trainer who challenges us each week regarding our exercise and diet. I think sometimes the same mentality is needed regarding participation on social media sites like Twitter. Here is a simple program! Check it out and get started today!

1. Be Different – Find a way that is comfortable for you and let people know.

(My Tweets @brentpohlman  are 70% Marketing – (Social Media, Marketing, etc) and 30% Personal Fun) – I write from a Marketing Director Point of view! Hence the title of the blog!

I want to share information from a person who works with marketing on a regular basis and I am always learning and striving to make it a more effective and efficient process.

Company Tweets @midwestlabs  – 80% Informational ( Information from Midwest Labs Blog and Midwest Labs News Site and 20% Comments

These type of tweets are for company-related awareness. People need to know what Midwest Laboratories does with respect to laboratory analysis and testing. Twitter and other social media sites help facilitate this type of communication.

2. Be Passionate – Have a great headline, (GET OUR ATTENTION! )

Most people do not have success with Twitter and other social media sites because their headline stinks.  It’s too wordy and people quickly scan over it.

If you want people to notice you, you need to write with passion and get people to see that you believe in what you are writing.

3. Be Believable – Write from experience

Experience sells and people want to engage with people who know what they are talking about.

Talk about a particular experience where you found value and you know others would also benefit from your experience.

4. Be a Problem Solver – Find information to write about that resolves issues

Learning all the time and finding ways to get more effective and efficient is a huge driver for me. I try to connect with people who stand for something and take the next step to show me how something can be done better or fixed, or resolved.

5. Be Credible

All of the information you find regarding my twitter posts are posted on my blog site. I back up my work by placing it on my own platform. No sales gimmicks or extra down-loads. People decide if the information they are reading is credible and trustworthy. I take this very seriously and if I endorse a particular product it is only because of my experience with that product or company.

Summary

If you find people who have these qualities, follow them.  Hold the people you follow to a higher standard. Connect with only the best people out there. If you are looking for people to follow you, start by checking out how you can improve your own experience on Twitter. Everyone is working at this all the time and its a never-ending job! Why not start today and start learning.

Thanks for reading!
