What is your first reaction?
Are you overjoyed or has your stress level reached an all-time high?
This is how I think everyday. I keep asking myself “Are we ready for “x”? I change “x” all the time but it definitely keeps me on my toes.
Here are a few of my “X’s”
- x = big client – Fortune 500
- x = government work
- x = chain of stores
- x = international work
- x = one-time $100 – 1,000,000 project
I play these particular scenarios out in my head all of the time and see what my comfort level is. Each day, I look at these “X’s” and determine which items would be best for the company in the short-term and the long term.
Big clients take a lot of work. However, here is the reason I bring up this subject. Companies, large and small are implementing new technology everyday and the playing field is more wide open then ever before. In the past, business relationships lasted a long time and it was very hard for a small company to get into a large company.
Now, with companies cutting costs and becoming more efficient each and everyday, small companies are being looked at from a cost savings and cost benefit.
Small companies need to wake up and start playing big. The race to innovating and implementing new ideas is here and it is up to companies to grab hold of these technologies and map out a strategy to go after the opportunities.
Time to think Big
