Justifying the marketing numbers

Are you getting tired of all these studies that say more people are using Twitter or Pinterest or Linkedin or Facebook. Depending on which survey you read it appears one site is overtaking another. Also, don’t forget all of those studies that show you need to be on mobile.

It can be confusing and downright misleading if you really take this information to heart.

My advice in dealing with these studies, create your own study and track traffic and more important conversions from these various sites.  I use new accounts and revenue as metrics. In addition, I look at Google Analytics and other tracking sites to determine effectiveness.

Also, continue to read articles and look for people who actually deal with these studies from a personal standpoint for their own companies. This information is more valuable than any survey.
