Success on TwitterAre you struggling with integrating twitter into your business? Have you read all kinds of books and blog posts about Twitter, but you are still not finding information on how to effectively use Twitter?

Let me suggest that you read the Twitter Best Practices Page on Twitter.

This page has great insights on the following topics:

Create Tweets that resonate
Keep Tweets short and sweet
Make it real-time
Tweet often
Follow your interests
Simply @reply
Stay trendy
Win at Contests

It is a good reference page for marketers who need a friendly reminder from time to time to use as a checklist to insure Twitter is being used to its full potential.

I would add:

  • Use Hashtags
  • Attach images to your tweets
  • Use Vine
  • Use Twylah – Twitter Interface
  • Use Tweetdeck or Hootsuite

I know many of you could add other best practices to the following list of items. The point here is that there are many resources within reach to help us become more proficient in the way we use Twitter with respect to achieving our marketing and branding goals.

This post was written for those of you who understand how Twitter works and who want to have more success. You will undoubtedly hear about programs that will gain you new followers in a few days, I would run from them. I have tried them and these programs bring the wrong kind of connections. If you go back to the basics and try a few programs out there that are proven, you will see success, just be patient and diligent in your pursuit of success on Twitter.
