“R” “T”
Everyday, I see people simply read a post, or half-read a posted article and click the retweet button to show their agreement with someone. My advice to you is if you really want to engage and make a difference, take that additional step and click <Edit Retweet> and type-in a relevant comment.
When someone Favorites one of my retweets or RT’s one of my tweets, I look at who the person is that performed this action, but I often wonder what did they really like about that post or if my post is just liked because of the particular topic.
Now, I have become selective in how I initiate a Retweet. I only retweet something if it is really valuable information and then I will make sure to indicate that in my retweet.
Some examples
RT@NAME – A must read for marketers!
RT@NAME – If you read one article today, read this one!
RT@NAME – This is one of the best articles I have read this month.
RT@NAME – Very practical information here!
RT@NAME – This person’s blog site rocks!
Again, back away from just retweeting and add some comments that mean something. You will definitely stand out from the crowd and you will really take engaging on Twitter to a new level.
