Some Questions To Think About:
When was the last time, you updated your page?
When was the last time you actually read your page?
Most Important:
Is your page adding value for your readers?
Why should they read your blog posts?
Here are my reflections on this topic:
I recently looked at my “Credential Page” on this site and was surprised that it had not been updated in two years. “Yikes!” Then, yes I decided to make the hard decision to read it. Oh my, why would anyone read this information. Blah, Blah, Blah – boring stuff.
Then, I asked myself – How could I add more value to the people who read this page? Here is what I did to help recreate this page.
Use less words – Too many words mean too many skimming eyes. Who has time to read a bunch of words.
Emphasize your points – Use some bullet points and bolding key words. What do you want people to take away from you.
Finally, give people a solid reason to connect with you. Should people connect with you just because you write a blog. What should readers learn from your site? What can they take from your site and apply to their own experience?
Give people a reason to connect and start by cleaning up your own “About Us” Page. Think about updating your personal profile and company profile. You need to make sure it stands out and captures the eye of your reader. Show Value – Period!
