Here is a way to bring clients and potential clients into your place of business and show them what your company is all about. In today’s post- 9/11 era, company tours have been reduced significantly. It is harder and harder for people to visit company representatives at their business location.
At the company I work for, tours are integral part of our marketing. We give tours to people each week: small groups, (5-10) large groups, (10 – 50). It is a fantastic way to tell our story and show people how our processes work.
Giving people a taste of your business during business hours shows that you are willing to open up your establishment to visitors and help them understand all types of things:
- quality processes are in place
- high standards of employees
- the latest technology
- clean facilities
- service with a name behind it
If you want a new way to market your services, try opening your place up and inviting people to take a tour and learn more about your company. I can tell you from experience that potential clients often will conduct business with you, four to six months after visiting your company. We have started to realize this more and more as we ask new clients how they heard about our company.
Your challenge: Try connecting with some local business groups, or organizations and see if they would be willing to hold an event at your location. Contact some local high schools/colleges and offer some special event for top students.
Tours are another channel that most companies don’t take advantage of. You can be like most other companies or be different. The choice is yours.
