Here are some items I will be working on in 2014:
Mobile Application – It might be time to develop a mobile app that actually adds value to your clients. Creating games and reference items are ok, but people generally move on to a better game or a more current reference. Give people a process that they can have some control over and it will help them connect more with your company.
Google Hummingbird – You need to learn and work on something new regarding this latest change, especially if search-marketing is for you.
Social Media Integration – Social Media will soon be a part of regular marketing activities. The faster you integrate social into other marketing forms, the sooner you will start to see more results.
Client CRM – It is time to focus more on client information by selecting some key information to collect and track. People are pulling back, but it is important to stay on top of client behavior and look for opportunities to retain current clients by offering better products/services.
Reconnect with marketing associates in agencies and organizations – I started to do this in the second part of 2013. When social media first came out in 2007-2009, I worked closely with others outside of my company. Over the past few years, I have worked closer inside to make sure systems were in place to service clients. It is time to branch out again and look for the new changes on the horizon.
Continue Blogging, (Add Special Reports) -Time to expand blogging from day-to-day content and add special reports. Blogging is on the upswing and current bloggers need to make sure their content stands out. Think of yourself as your own local/national news channel.
Find Ways to Integrate Video into Your Marketing – Video will continue to be a market changer. This is an area I really need to work on more in 2014.
Continue to Find Ways to Be Different – This is always a goal! Those people and companies who look can communicate basic ideas in a whole new way are the most successful. Continue to develop ideas and innovative ways to look at the way you conduct business.
