Obviously you have to write content that people are interested in reading. However, if you want content that works for you, how can you achieve those objectives too.
Here is what I mean about content working for you:
- Content that ultimately leads to better organic results (First Page of Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc)
- Content that is shared by others across social media sites
- Content that has a longer shelf life
- Content that is fresh, meaningful and different from all the rest of the content out there.
Now let’s answer the question, “What is quality content?”
Speaking from my very unscientific position,Quality content is content that is innovative on a particular level and speaks with a tone of influence. (by Brent Pohlman 11/12/13)
My point here is that as a writer, you need to define what quality content is from your standpoint of writing. This should be your goal. By defining what I want my content to look like, I can now begin to write with an influential voice and the best way to do that is to write on something you are passionate about and you have experience with.
Many articles will suggest that you need to write content with fewer key words or in conversationsal style. Someone show me what that looks like. Is this really your goal? Do you want to write conversational material? Maybe you do. For me, I had to go back and define what quality content is to me. If I don’t like what I write or have a plan in mind, why should I expect others to read my content. Define what it is you want to communicate and create your own definition of quality content.
