I am carrying this theme from 2013 to 2014. The more I talk with other people, the more I realize how important it is to create great experiences.
Too many times, marketers are told to engage and not broadcast. Make sure you talk and don’t sell. It is always do this and don’t do this. What if you looked at these comparisons differently. What if you added experience in each conversation, sale, engagement and broadcast.
If you speak from experience or talk about someone else and their own experience, you instantly become someone of interest.
How do we create better experiences for our clients?
Here are some ways I have found success?
Talk specifically about our own experiences. People like to see results: good or bad. If people can connect and gain understanding from your experience they will want to learn more about you.
Show people what you are talking about. Use pictures and video to really give people a true picture of your own experience. In addition, when people are able to see you, they will be able to put a name with a face and that picture or video will stay in their memory.
Communicate via phone or in person. True experiences happen when people get to shake hands and listen to one another. This is when the magic happens. Have you connected with someone through social media and later met them at a meeting or a conference. It really brings the connection to another level.
People want experiences! In 2014, your goal as a marketer is to provide more of these type of experiences. It may be a way of putting your message into its proper focus.
Thanks again for your support of this blog site in 2014!
