Client ServiceClient Service

This should be our goal in every marketing and social media campaign.

Serving client needs should be the highest goal for every company. Without clients, our businesses would not be in business. Everything we do should have some positive ramification for our clients.

Too many times, marketers believe the right tools or engagement will make a difference. Let’s face it if we take care of our clients’ needs, we will always maintain the correct frame of mind.

Internal Clients

If you need a test group, why not look internally with respect to your own company. If you are in marketing, how well do you communicate with your sales team. If you are on the sales team are you keeping your operations team informed about client needs.

If you are an executive, are you close to the situation or an arms-length away.

Today, those companies that can develop and implement new changes to help better serve clients will win the ultimate battle. If the marketing and sales team understand their clients’ needs, have they worked with their production team and executives to inform them and come up with plans and projects that address client needs.

External Clients

This one is obvious, but how often do we treat some clients much better than others. In today’s world small companies can  grow and become big overnight. (Example: Instagram).

Is social media all about engagement? What happened to serving the needs of clients by providing answers to questions or providing helpful content that helps address issues that clients are currently facing.

In addition, are clients receiving first-class support and new product/service deliverables?

Summary

You see with clients as the focus, you ultimately shift the focus away from yourself and you begin to see where you can make a difference. If you are not meeting clients’ needs, how do you expect your marketing campaigns to work.

Identify areas that you need to work on to meet client expectations. Start by working internally. Get your support system in place by providing them with the tools and culture they need to be successful.

From here, you can focus on external client needs and begin to look for specific approaches to use to address your client needs and demonstrate how you can solve their particular issues.
