Year-End ManiaThis December I am seeing a lot of current clients and new clients in positions who are looking to make big deals before the end of the year.  I believe there are many reasons for this, but I want to show you some examples first.

In the past seven days, one client came to us and asked if he could double his business because he wanted to change companies.

I heard from a new client who was surprised we could do the work she requested and she decided to move her business to us from another company.

Several others commented how easy it was to find the information they needed on our website and they have decided to bring us a substantial part of their business to us.

People are looking for answers in many different areas. Here are just a few areas I have seen this month:

  • better client service
  • better relationships with company representatives
  • better expertise on a particular topic
  • looking for new suppliers
  • better pricing
  • growing companies
  • family-owned companies
  • companies that have better websites

These are not anomalies, these are real people looking for answers.

Reason #1  – The Digital Age

This should not be news to people. Right now, people want answers and often they cannot find the information they are looking for.

If you have a solid “content marketing” plan in place, you will results of your efforts.

If you tell people how to get a hold of you, (Post your phone number on your website), people will call.

Reason #2 – Service during the holiday season tends to drop off

Make sure you are staffed appropriately to handle client questions in a timely manner.

Some last-minute spending may be occurring as a result of new budgets going into place in the new year.

People want faster service and guarantees their work will get done. Those companies that can meet these demands are the winners.

Reason #3 – People are conducting more research at this time

A lot of researching is happening at this time and typically search traffic goes up during this time of the year.

In addition, many companies are trying to get a head start on the new year and want to see if your products and services can take them to a new level.

Some things to do to keep in mind

Listen more to people’s concerns and give people some helpful solutions

The key here is to be available. While many people are looking at their year-end vacation time. Other companies are looking at some golden opportunities. Make sure you have staff in place to handle these type of questions.

There are lots of seekers this time of year. Make sure you have a good client service staff in place to help facilitate discussions which solve issues and add value to current clients and potential clients.

Be personable and helpful

It’s a great time of year to review your INBOUND Marketing to make some serious deals.  People are finding you and contacting representatives from your company. Make sure you are tracking these calls and giving people the information that they need.

Don’t miss out on opportunities during these last few weeks of 2014.
